Press Release on the Telephone Conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Oman
On 1 March 2026, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
During the call, the ministers exchanged views on the ongoing military escalation and the increasing tensions in the region.
The ministers expressed deep concern over the recent escalation and emphasized that further deterioration of the situation poses a serious threat to regional security and stability.
The importance of de-escalation and of intensifying diplomatic efforts aimed at resuming the negotiation process was highlighted.
They also stressed the necessity of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The ministers further exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
