Event Held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Sultanate of Oman within the Framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”
Muscat, 19 November 2025 — The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Sultanate of Oman hosted an official event dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty.” The gathering highlighted the historical evolution of Azerbaijani statehood, the pivotal role of the national Constitution, and the protection and consolidation of the country’s sovereignty.
In his address, H.E. Rashad Ismayilov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sultanate of Oman, underscored the exceptional legacy of the National Leader and founder of modern Azerbaijani statehood, Heydar Aliyev. He outlined Heydar Aliyev’s decisive contributions to the country’s development, the establishment of an independent state, and the formation of a robust legal and institutional framework. Ambassador Ismayilov emphasized that the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted in 1995, has served as the fundamental basis for the nation’s political, economic, and social progress, playing a vital role in strengthening state independence.
Ambassador Ismayilov further highlighted the strategic achievements realized by Azerbaijan in recent years under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that, owing to the President’s visionary and consistent policies, Azerbaijan has emerged as a leading regional power, significantly enhanced its international standing, achieved sustainable economic growth, and implemented major global projects in the energy and transport sectors. The Ambassador stressed that the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the full reinforcement of national sovereignty constitute the most significant political accomplishment in the country’s modern history.
The event also featured the screening of a specially prepared video dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” showcasing Azerbaijan’s modern development trajectory and key state-building achievements. Guests were presented with visual insights into the country’s ongoing progress and long-term development priorities.
