On 5 April 2026, a courtesy meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Sultanate of Oman between Ambassador of Azerbaijan Rashad Ismayilov and Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Oman, Mr. Qais Saad Al Amer.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–Iraq relations and exchanged views on expanding cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian fields.
