On May 28, on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Muscat hosted a formal reception.
The event was attended by Minister Rahma Al Mahrouqi, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, the Azerbaijani community, media representatives, and businesspeople. The ceremony began with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Oman. Ambassador Rashad Ismayilov highlighted the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918 as the first democratic parliamentary republic in the Muslim East, and spoke of Azerbaijan’s current development under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership. Guests enjoyed Azerbaijani national music, promotional videos, and traditional cuisine.
